Sproul’s Furniture, located ‘by the bridge’ in Newcastle, Maine was founded by John A. Sproul in 1938. He purchased two large buildings adjacent to the Damariscotta Bridge, where the business still operates. John’s daughter, Laura, currently owns the store.

We strive to change our interior every year during the winter months and constantly search for new furniture companies at national furniture and accessory markets. We are proud of our stylish appearance, as well as the fact that the majority of our furniture is made in America by American companies. Several of these companies create their furniture in Maine, which helps to create our reputation for excellent service. Sproul’s Furniture has changed in many ways since 1938, but our philosophy that the customer always comes first remains constant.
